Bun in the oven

Well...Jonathan and I are officially BAKERS!  Yup, that's right.  We have a bun in the oven!!  Okay, okay :-)  We are pregnant!  Since so many of you are spread across the U.S. I thought I would start a blog to keep everyone posted on my progress.  We are extremely blessed and excited to bring this little miracle into the world!


On Wednesday morning (Feb 15), I just couldn't wait anymore.  I decided to take a test.  I didn't believe the lines...so after work, I went straight to Target and got an "idiot proof" test...needless to say it told me I was PREGNANT!

I found out on a Wednesday (doctor confirmed on Friday morning) and had to keep it a secret until Jon came home on Friday evening!  And you thought I couldn't keep a secret!!  

Since I discovered I was pregnant we have had a few ups and downs.  With Jon being in Twentynine Palms it has definitely been an emotional roller coaster.  Also, I have been trying to complete my MBA...which I did (finally!)!  Luckily, I have WONDERFUL friends in Cali that are just like family to me and have kept my mind positive.  Stacey has stood in for Jon and come to all of my appointments with me.  With a few minor complications, it was nice to have someone by my side.  I am so blessed!!

Today, (March 15) I had an ultrasound.  I have already had 2, but nothing was really showing on either one.  However...today I got to see our little peanut!  

There was also a strong heartbeat!  We couldn't hear it, but seeing the flutter on the screen brought so much joy to my heart!  Based on the size of the baby it is measuring at 8 weeks today so my due date will be Oct 25.  I will keep you all posted...and as for belly pictures, there isn't anything to show you!  I did take a picture when I was 5 weeks, but I will post it once I start showing and have something to compare it to :)
