That's right y'all!  It's a BOY!!  We are so blessed...all 3 old wives tales led directly to boy so we kind of had an idea!!  We chose to go to an ultrasound place as opposed to waiting until 20 weeks at the doctor.  As the technician told us aloud that "it's a boy" it wasn't even a split second later that Jon's arms were in the air yelling TOUCHDOWN!  At that point I knew I would be out-numbered :)  I have always pictured myself being a "boy mom" so I am ecstatic too!  And yes...we have a name picked out, but I plan on keeping it off the web for as long as possible!

Me rocking my "bump" at the Dodgers vs. Braves game.  (oh boy, I look SO tired here!)  This was our last night without knowing the sex!

It's been awhile since I have updated this, my apologies!  As I look back over the last few years I am shocked that I was able to complete my MBA and work full time.  Now I am only working and can't seem to keep up!!


I feel healthier than ever and rarely do I feel sick or tired now.  I eat ALL the time though.  Current cravings include sharp cheddar cheese, popcorn, icee's (blue raspberry), and lemonade.  I also love a good spinach salad with cranberries (who am I and where is Sara?  I was just asking myself that!).

He is doing great!  When we found out the sex, we saw him bouncing around and stretching. He had his hands up above his head and was just lounging around.  It was so precious to see him moving!  We saw a strong heart beat and his full spine.  We were also able to see his hands and feet and she showed us where he had his hand up against his ear.  At one point he got hiccups and was bouncing up and down.  She said that he definitely isn't shy :)

 I hadn't really noticed a difference until I was in Clearwater Beach.  It was as if I swallowed a softball in my sleep!!

Happy Easter y'all!

11 weeks

I am 11ish weeks along and everything is looking great.  Our little "bean" has definitely grown!!  It has a strong heart beat and the doctor said everything is progressing well.  

Last weekend, we were able to have a little getaway to see my family in Clearwater Beach, FL.  (Congrats to my little sister who is now engaged!  woot!!)  The harsh reality of being pregnant struck me when I couldn't button any of my shorts from last year!  The rubber band trick works wonders for keeping my pants up.  http://diymaternity.com/pants-skirts/the-rubberband-maternity-trick/
I have also invested in a pair of maternity shorts and maternity jeans.  However, I believe this summer I will be living in dresses!


I have been extremely blessed with hardly any morning sickness.  I am super tired, but for now I can handle that!!  I miss Chick Fil A sweet tea the most...I don't really have any cravings, but the baby has ruled out Japanese food, hot dogs, and krispy kreme doughnuts.  The list will grow I am sure!  


We have exhausted all "options" to determine whether it will be a girl or a boy...any guesses?  Let me just say this...the Chinese calendar, the Ramzi method, and the wedding ring on a string test...all proved to have the same result!!  Of course we will find out what it will be...neither of us have the patience to wait until it is born!  


Jon was able to join me at the doctor's office last week for the first time.  It was so nice to finally have him there!  The doctor didn't allow us to hear the heart beat, but he said seeing it was just as good (if not better) than hearing it.  We really like our doctor.  He is very blunt and shoots it straight with us anytime we have a question.  My next appointment isn't until the middle of May.  I am going to try to get better at updating this until then!  (belly pictures to follow sometime this week...)
