18 weeks

I am 18 weeks and feeling great!  I am growing bigger by the day and hope that I soon "plateau" a bit.  Jon and I have a busy summer planned.  Next week we have our first real ultrasound that will be done to determine if all of the baby's anatomy is forming correctly.  This would be the appointment in which we would determine if it was a boy or girl (thank goodness I didn't wait!).

I haven't had too many food cravings, but I eat pineapple every night and can't live without cereal.  I was the crazy lady in the grocery store the other day who bought 9 boxes...yes 9...of cereal.  It's got to be better than ice-cream...right?  I try to divulge in as much water as possible, but it isn't my most favorite thing.  Last night I did experience a horrible experience!  My first leg cramp.  No matter how much warning you get, those things are killer!  At least now I know what to expect.  I am still *im*patiently waiting to feel him move in my belly.  I have felt little bubbles, but nothing more...

I had the privilege of travelling to Savannah, GA last weekend to celebrate Jaycie's bachelorette party.  It was SO much fun!  It was the first time I dared to put on my bikini, but I rocked it and figured that I might as well embrace it since I am in for a California summer!  It was such a joy to be able to spend time with family and relax.  As we take our travels elsewhere, I will post more photos.  Until then, stay tuned!  We just might be coming to a city near you!

A few weeks back, I decided to go ahead and order baby furniture.  My mantra with being part of the Marine Corps family is get what you want...and figure out space later.  The house we live in will always change and there is no reason to "perfect" any room since it could be completely different in the next house.  Well...it sounded like a good idea at the time.  This coming from the same girl who bought the master bedroom furniture she fell in love with...and it is now split between the guest room and the master because it didn't all fit :)  I guess some of us don't live and learn, HA!  Anyways, the baby furniture is gorgeous so I knew I could make it work.  I also found the glider I was most comfortable in and bought it...who needs to measure?  The delivery guys called and said they could deliver on Friday.  I was SO excited.  They came...and they left...and these are the packages I got.  Oh joy!  Boxes...boxes that I cannot do anything with since I am a helpless preggo lady.  Luckily, we have family close by and Curt was gracious enough to come help Jonathan unpack them!  After removing the door...rearranging furniture about 7 times...we found the perfect space for each piece.  For now, here is a sneak peak (fun, isn't it?  ha).

'15 week' photos

 15 weeks 2 days
I feel like I look SO much more pregnant than in this photo :) But when I wore this dress to work, it was the first day clients asked me when I was due!

Time is definitely flying by.  We have our next appointment on Thursday (I'll be 16 weeks) and we will hopefully hear his heartbeat.  Everything seems to be going smoothly.  I have started to actually gain weight at this point.  Early on I had a belly, but I think everything was just shifting so I didn't actually gain anything.  Other than dresses, not much else fits.  Shirts are too short now and the only pants/shorts I can wear are maternity.  Thank you OLD NAVY for providing small sizes!!

Jonathan and I have a busy summer planned so I have no doubt that time will keep flying by.  We finally registered at Babies R Us and Pottery Barn Kids.  No one ever warned me how stressful registering is!  It's amazing how many things a baby needs...and I have never been one to read reviews before buying, but I find myself comparing EVERYTHING!  We still have a lot of little things to add, but we have the big things figured out.  After registering, I really started the "nesting" phase.  We are cleaning out one room at a time and I have a carpet cleaning scheduled for Thursday.  Cheers to being pregnant!
